About Us
What We Do
We develop software. In particular we work with enterprise class and line of business applications. That doesn't preclude packaged applications, but they're typically packaged business applications. So, in the main, we work with big databases and large user counts. In terms of what we actually do, the answer is pretty much anything that's part of developing software. That can include project management, scoping, architecture development, database design, UI design, specification, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, DB admin and support.
Red Software has been trading for over six years now and during that time we've worked with a large variety of organisations, including both blue chip commercial organisations and large public bodies. We have experience in a wide variety of vertical markets including financials, warehousing and distribution, stock management, CRM, service management and property management.
How We Do It
Thoughtfully, ably, efficiently, thoroughly, systematically, absolutely, comprehensively, effectively, passionately, perceptively, knowledgably, insightfully and cost effectively.
Where We Do It
We're based in the East of Scotland within easy enough commuting distance to anywhere in the central belt and within telecommuting distance of pretty much anywhere. We have undertaken a number of previous projects on a remote basis.
Who We Are
Just so that we can't be accused of faking the plural, for the time being the "we" in Red Software consists of me, Gordon Robertson. I've been developing software using Progress for somewhere in the region of 15 years now, starting with version 5 and currently on version 10.
